First Blog Post - Autobiography

Hello All,

My name is Honey and I'm not too familiar with the world of social media or any type of media. My relationship with mass media would be close to non-existent when it comes to technology and media. I have a much better relationship when it comes to books and magazines. I hardly ever watch television or will be on the internet. I almost consider myself a caveman when it comes to the newest technology and social media among my peers. I grow up with little technology around, so I did not care much for it as I grew older. I do not own a television and just purchased my own laptop today!

My current major is Communications and I am in the midst of deciding on minoring in either Economics or Journalism. I would love a job in the field of mass communications such as becoming a reporter or working in the human resource department.

Sincerely,
New Blogger
Honey Wipatothai

  1. Hello Honey!

Your blog is both similar and different to mine! It is similar because I also am becoming cut off to social media and do not watch television. It is different because although i am becoming unattached to social media i have spent a lot of my life as a teenager and young adult overly invested in social media.

I have learned and have been learning, that there are a lot of my peers with the same major as me, that share the same distaste or lack of interest with the social media world.

  2. Hey!

I really enjoy your honesty when it comes to technology and the media world. I believe that sometimes we as teenagers tend to look at those who arent up to date with the media with a sort of negative look. I on the other hand do not agree. Although it is great to know whats going on with the media around you, it should not be frowned upon to want to separate yourself from media.

No matter what our level of expertise on media is, I can guarantee you that we will learn a significant amount that will continue to help us in our college career.

  3. Honey (this is a great nickname by the way),

Your autobiography is the first one I've read that doesn't list internet as a primary source of information. Even though your connection with the media is out of the ordinary compared to most college students, I think that your experiences will give you a unique and insightful perspective and will help you in becoming a communications major.

  4. I'm hoping that learning about media technology won't be too scary for you (Truth 5). Your input in the class will be interesting because of your unique media autobiography.
